I've had tastier Nando's elsewhere. The food was a bit on the cold side, especially the fino pitta, I expected piping hot chicken. Overall, it was a middling dining experience. The service was alright; nothing particularly noteworthy in terms of customer service.
I was impressed at how seriously they took our allergies - gluten, dairy & tomatoes. Friendly atmosphere. Free Available parking. Spacious interior. Delicious food & serve Halal too; Whole chicken regular combination (medium spice) with 2 sides (chips & spicy rice) with another large chips & large sweet potato wedges. Please note that the sweet potato wedges portion is not enough for 2 people as advertised though.
Alex the manager is fantastic. I was delivered the wrong side and he personally made exactly what I wanted at a larger portion free of charge. Later, he had one raw piece of chicken replaced with a freshly cooked one very quickly. Overall good and friendly atmosphere, when something goes wrong they sort it out fast.
Nando’s Chaul End is a great place to go with family and friends. As always, their famous grilled chicken with Nando’s sauce is an exceptional example of how good a grill can be. The ambience is nice too, but be prepared for a long wait time
UPDATE: Thought I’d give Nando’s another chance and the experience was wonderful! The staff were lovely, the food was delicious and the staff were not taking our plates away before we had finished. Great job guys. You’re back in my good books. Even after reading the bad reviews we still decided to pay a visit. Unfortunately we should have taken heed. The customer service sucked. It was like being monitored by the FBI. Some lady called Tasha was walking up and down looking at everyone’s plates (I have made a video which I will not post). As we were eating she asked my husband abruptly if he had finished his meal. It was more of a demand rather than a question. She already had her hands on the friggin plate! So my husband just let her take it. We would have appreciated a bit more time as the place was not full but our plates were. We were sharing our food. There were plenty of empty tables so I don’t understand what the urgency was. Rude, unfriendly, discourteous staff. The Peri Peri across the road is tiny but awesome. Only 2 tables but they don’t snatch your plate off you. Retrain your staff or employ new ones. As you can see from the photos it wasn’t exactly buzzing in there. Shameful.
